SCARLET FIRETHORNS

SCARLET FIRETHORNS

LATIN NAME: PYRACANTHA COCCINEA

HOMELAND: SOUTH EAST EUROPE

Curse or Love of Witches

The fire thorn, which has never been mentioned in any historical process, neither mythologically nor folklorically, first attracted the attention of the church congregations which are stil bounded the Victorian Era traditions in the towns of Glamorgan and Addleston, Surrey, England in 2000 and 2001.

Eclectic witches among the New Age movements that emerged as we entered the 2000s used the small, red and round fruits of the firethorn in binding spells to both curse and win the love of a person.

Fire thorn berries, which are preferred as an alternative to holly berries, which are considered sacred in Christianity, because they are more easily found for Christmas wreaths and flower arrangements of churches, was associated with the devil by the florists in Glamorgan and removed from the product range, due to used by eclectic witches in spells.

In 2001, churches in Addleston, Surrey, near London, considered it a sin on the grounds that it smelled like sex and triggered lust, and it was removed from the gardens of churches and its use as a garnish on flowers prepared for religious purposes was prohibited.

Eclectic witches use of fire thorn berries in their spells was not taken seriously outside of the towns of Glamorgan and Addleston, and the fire thorn plant continues to be recommended in the modern land scape as a multifunctional hedge plant.

While the dense and thorny branches of the fire thor nare a shelter against predators for birds small enough to get between the mand its fruits are also food. Birds eat not only the fruits of the fire thorn, but also the harmful insects around them, providing a natural cleaning that does not require chemical struggle.

Fire thorns are decorative as well as being a thorny plant, making them a living fence. Although fire thorns give an aesthetic appearance to the forest in large forest areas, they play a preventive role in the spread of fire because they ignitelate in forest fires.
