The name “AloeVera” is derived from the Arabic word “Alloeh” meaning “shining bitter substance” and the Latin word “Vera” meaning “truth”.

The ancient Egyptians and Chinese were among the first civilizations to recognize and apply the medicinal value of Aloe Vera. Two communities used the plant to treat wounds, burns, and reduce fevers. It was purchased and studied in Luxor in 1873 by the German Egyptologist George Maurice Ebers, among 700 prescriptions containingi nformation on various diseases and treatment methods, AloeVera's effect on mummifications topped the physical decomposition process. It is written that it is an eternity plant that helps to reach eternal life both spiritually and physically. It is known from historical records that the liquid between the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant, which was called the "Blood of the Gods" in Ancient Egypt, was injected into the wombs of the queens with the belief that it would give immortality to the newly born pharaohs.

The aloe plant, which grows in almost every part of the World with suitable climatic conditions, has been a part of both treatments and fantastic beliefs in all geographies independent of each other.

In South American folklore, it is believed that the aloe plant extract mixed with the bathing water of evil people cleanses the evil inside that person.

In the regions where it grows in Africa, it is kept in kitchens and workplaces, believing that a supernatural power in the plant prevents accidents.

In Himalayan folklore, the aloe plant, which is used both as medicine and believed to bring luck, is defined as the "God of Medicinal Plants".

In Ayurveda, the word "Kumari", meaning a beautiful young girl, is used for the aloe plant, calling it the most perfect plant that all women should use for beauty and health throughout their lives.

The North American Indians considered the aloe vera plant as a "mystery plant", a "medicine plant" and a "burn plant" as a part of their culture. They called it the "scepter of heaven" because they believed the plant's health and moisturizing properties came directly from heaven.
